Only watched Jurrassic Park III last night! Was good, had a better plot than Jurrasic Park II, but not as good as Jurassic Park I.

I like the idea that maybe in Jurrasic Park IV :

the dinosaurs may be making their own way to the mainland, as it gets away from the going to their own island to hunt/find someone

If JP2 had been good, people wouldn't been saying that they should have stopped after the first. The second wasn't very good and they should have made it a lot better, but that doesn't meen that a sequel isn't suitable. Films like speed 2 and ghostbusters 2 are terrible, but that doesn't meen they couldn't have made a better sequel.

There's some really REALLY strange ideas that have been bandied about with regarRAB to JP4..one involving genetically enginnered dinosaur/person mercinaries...i shit you not!!

in the search box at the side type in "jurassic park 4" in cluding the "'s or it'll search for every item with th number 4 in it......some real interesting reading

Sorry, i just meant that it was just over so quick on the island. Rushing from one place to another, the should have left the bit with the T-Rex in the city out and focused more on the island. I guess the book was just too good so i expected the film to be the same.

Agree with the above poster though about the cracking glass scene. That was a definite highlight of the film.

The 3rd film was just ridiculus where a 12 year old boy becomes a dinosaur survival expert in the space of a few weeks:rolleyes: Yeah, right

I like all 3 of them. The Lost World was the worst but still enjoyable. They will never make one as god as th e first though. I remember beign terrified at the cinema when I was young and went to see it.

Was disappointed by JPIII.Went to see it at the cinema when it was released and was amazed when it finished after only approx 90 mins.It was just getting going when it was all over. The original and The Lost World both came out at approx two hours.

Also felt Part III lacked the "Spielberg" touch,Joe Johnston did OK but it didn't seem as polished as it could have been, just my opinion though.Others may well have loved it.

I haven't read the book. I heard that Steven Spielberg decided late on, maybe even during filming, that he'd like to see a T Rex in San Diego, so the end part was added. I like it, but it is almost like a different movie to the rest of what's gone before. The scene with the ship approaching the harbour is great stuff.

Have to agree with you there. Infact i couldnt even watch the Lost World because it just makes me angry.. I didnt mind the most recent one, however none made so far match the original which was really groundbreaking. Personally I think they should give it a miss.

Jurassic Park 1 is untouchable.

Number 2 was pretty stupid and unrealistic.Julianne Moore's scene with the velocaraptors at the end was so stupid since they were meant to be fast and strong but couldnt attack her when she stood in front of her.

Number 3 i loved and thought it got straight into the plot.

in response to the earlier poster, whether "all CG looks fake" is entirely a matter of opinion

seen plenty of films with top notch visuals entirely believable

To be fair, 12 years on Jurassic Park is more than just a chase scene, it was a film that did justice to the original book, which in its self was a great story. I don't think any film or tv show has yet to beat the sfx ILM created for the JP franchise, not even WETA could top the fx 10 years on with the King Kong dinosaurs, ITV's offering Prehistoric Park is still missing something fx wise when you compare it to JP. Whereas these offerings (King Kong, Walking with...., and Prehistoric Park) created, what we deem to be, realistic CG dinosaurs Jurassic Park brought dinosaurs to life! And whilst we'll never get a return to the spectacle that was Jurassic Park I welcome further delves into the franchise aslong as we get excitement and entertainment but most of all 'living' dinosaurs.

CG is used in almost every major film these days whether it be an effects driven blockbuster or just a rom-com/drama. I guarantee there are plenty of CG elements that we, the audience, have no idea are there.

I admit that full CG scenes still tend to look a bit cartoony and CG characters stand out, but the background CG elements these days is pretty much indistinguishable from the real elements.

JP1 was a watershed in modern film history, arguably the first since SW Ep IV. It was true 'pin you to the back of the seat' stuff. I saw it three times in the cinema and still jumped at the same points!

I actually enjoyed JP2 as much - primarily because of the actors - the SFX were not the stars of the show any more. I agree that the San Diego bit detracted some what, but I think it was used to turn the T-Rex from the man-eating monster we saw on the Island back into just a wild animal reacting to an alien environment.

I did enjoy JP3, but it was a different type of film from the first 2 - realy just a popcorn film full of set-piece action scenes. Fun but nothing else. I have a feeling JP4 will be the same. Probably even more 'fantastic' if the plot spoilers so far are anything to go by.
