Same here. I loved the scene where she had to go in and switch all the buttons on and then ran away from the dinosaur :) Yes, she was in number 3, but not part of any of the action/dinosaur stuff :(

jesus, how come that site is just picking up that bogus story now, it was reproted on Aint it Cool nearly 2 years ago now. I thought it was cobblers then

Surface sort of got there already, but I'd like to see seamonsters in this one for a change.
The last hour of the Lost World was probably one of the worst thing's Spielberg has done.
I liked JPIII despite the abrupt ending which was foisted on the director, but the three-way dino fight in Kong was better than anything in all three JP movies IMO.
I assume they didn't go with John Sayles' script for JPIV which had talking raptors bred for combat.

My lord yes. It almost ruins the entire movie. I hate it when things like that happen. They spent millions on practical and CG dinosaur effects and yet somehow couldn't afford to get the ending right. The Pteranodons flying away from the island just saves it. Apparently they will feature in the opening of JP4, attacking people at a baseball game or something (perhaps this doesn't exist anymore now there's been a rewrite).

I firmly believe there should be a JP4 as they need to conclude the series (i.e. end it with dinosaurs being extinct once more). They need to reunite Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum as the two main stars for it to work.

They should have stopped after the second one!

You're not the only one. I liked JP1, I loved JP2, I hated JP3!
JP1 & 2 were about dinosaurs; JP3 wasn't. The 2nd one was by far the best of the 3 - not a fault in it from beginning to end. The first one is only good because of the T Rex set-piece - the rest of it isn't that great IMO.

You're having a laugh aren't you! It was a complete and utter shambles. Rushed from the start. Hardly any action on the island then that god awful end scene with the T-Rex in the city. Why the hell did they do that?! I read the book of The Lost World prior to the film and it was absolutely brilliant. If Spielberg had of stuck to that then he would have had a masterpiece in his hanRAB, but no, he had to dumb the whole thing down. I was so angry after coming out of the cinema. The first one was just amazing. I'll never forget it. I was 14 at the time and saw it 3 times at the cinema. an absolute classic.

The Lost World would've been a great film if they had ended it when they left the island - there was no need to bring the t-rex over to the main land, which ruined what I thought (up until that point) a great film.

JP3 was good, but nothing special - it lacked a certain something.

JP4 could go the same way as JP3 if not done right.

Agreed on the first one. A lot of people on this thread seem to be clueless about what an iconic, groundbreaking film it really was.

As for The Lost World, it's definitely the weakest of the three, but it still has some great moments. The tension of that scene with the cracking glass is still very special.

No action on the island? Are we talking about the same film?

I can't understand why people generally don't like the 2nd one. It was the best! Witty dialogue, interesting and probably quite accurate portrayal of dinosaurs, tension - the trailer scene is a classic, and the arrival of the cargo ship in San Diego! And Jeff Goldblum was given a decent role whereas he was completely wasted in the first one. The third one was dire, complete with inaccurate portrayal of dinosaurs (the Spinosaur).
