Jurassic Park 4 ??

There have been rumours for the last couple of years of a number 4, but have yet to hear anything solid...anyone know if this is gonna happen and if so, plot, characters etc ?

You are right, there has been lots of rumours.

But the last I heard was that after Michael Crichton's death they shevled the plans as the studios didn't want to do it without him.
 
He didn't have anything to do with the 3rd one though did he? Anyway, even if he was alive and wrote a book they'd still bloody ignore the majority of it like they did with the fantastic book of The Lost World and opted for that rubbish we saw on the screen:rolleyes:
 
I'd love there to be a Jurassic Park 4, so long as it's nothing like 2 and 3, and is up to the standard of the first movie.

I watched JP1 again the other night, and remembered how much of a great film it is. The effects used look a hell of a lot better that some movies these days, and that was 16 years ago! (speaking of which - it's on ITV2 again tonight)

2 and 3 bored me. And as previously posted by someone, JP2 was nothing like the book.

With all of the original cast (that survived) and as action packed and entertaining as the first one, it would be great. Let's just hope they don't make another stinker.

my take .....

the dinosaurs are changing the atmosphere, due to their excess breathe composition (more buggery from the gene sequencing)

CATHY BOWMAN (from the second movie) trying to "protect" the dinosaurs that the new INGEN company are creating

and the fact that th dinosaurs have TAKEN OVER most of south america, and that said company are trying to stop them going any further north

along with drs ellen and allan grant, with lex (who starts a relationship with CATHY through the movieS!) are recruited by the new INGEN company to help them ..... and their new boss played by LIAM NEESON

many twists and turns complicate the matter throughout, and of course dinosaus eat a LOT of people ..... maybe stampede a few too :D

and have a new trilogy under the banner JURASSIC WORLD

tell spielberg to give me a call when he's ready :p
 
Just watching JP1 and the effects are brilliant (as mentioned above). The scene where the two cars are stuck outside the T-Rex compound in the rain and the T-Rex showing up is high drama and brilliantly done.

Last I heard about JP4 is that they were changing the name of the film to just "Jurassic".

I really do think that Jeff Goldblum should be involved as Dr. Ian Malcolm as he is a brilliant character, more so than Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler (Sam Neill and Laura Dern).
 
one thing that always annoyed me about JP1

when the t-rex kills the goat, the goat's tether is right next to the fence. the t-rex then bursts through and attacks the car

yet when it has killed the lawyer and starts to push the other car over the edge - there is a bl**dy big drop there! where did that come from???
 
I'm glad IV never materialised. Talk was they were going to have genetically engineered super-dino's carrying GUNS!!! RAB... maybe would have been worth seeing just how appalling it would have been :D

Anyway, screw JP - they should make Dino Crisis - The Movie.
 
DINO CRISIS would be a good one .....

as for JP4 ..... the new INGEN would make something to CONTROL dinos ..... it would be an intregal part to the story, perhaps to CATHY BOWMAN's backstory?

and anyway, i guess you don't want to watch giant battles with dinosaurs all fighting each other with those poor humans caught in the middle :D
 
Apparently the idea now is to wait a while then 'reboot' Jurassic Park instead of doing a 4th in the series. My guess is that none of the previous cast want to be involved anymore, so there's no point in calling it Jurassic Park 4 IMO.

They always planned to open JP4 with the Pterenadons that escape the island at the end of JP3 attacking a sports stadium. What I would do is to have a SUCCESSFUL park on the mainland that's been open for a while. They get thousanRAB of visitors week in week out and there have been zero incidents. Until...terrorists let the dinos loose.
 
No, i want no park on the mainland. That was the worst thing about the 2nd one and the worst thing about the entire trilogy. I want them to have a storyline about them going back to the original island. Surely there's a good writer out there that can do something?
 
If there is a new one i hope that it's much longer than III was. It was over before it even started (92 mins compared to 127 and 129 for I + II) Then again, perhaps we should be glad of that or it could have become even more of a non-story borefest.

III also felt soul-less too, which i put down to Spielberg not directing.

I'd also hope the rumours of Ariana RicharRAB taking a lead role would come to fruition. Ahhh, my childhood crush she was :o :D
 
JP4

A massive asteroid crashes into the oceon, sending a wave of destruction....and dinosaur eggs...all over the world.

The prehistoric and modern creatures....including us..battle it out for domination and survival.


JP5 - Dinos in space

Humans hop on a spaceship and into outer space to escape extinction on the preditor dominated earth. But one human has a secret...hes sneaked rapter, T Rex and stegasaurous eggs on board in hope of taming them to help build a new planet.

JP6 - Evoloution

Now humans have established themselfs on an undiscovered planet, but its right on course to be hit by an asteroid. so they return to earth to try and reclaim the planet, unaware that modern preditors and dinos have bred to produce new breeRAB of super mega preditors.

JP7 - Aliens vs Dinos

Aliens try to take over earth. A few human survivers watch as aliens and dinos battle it out. But will the aliens save the humans?
