Junior MasterChef Australia......excuse the bad grammar and spelling

no.1.......this show started 5 days ago and thanks to a fellow poster i have just caught it (monkey)....... the junior version in OZ is getting bigger ratings than the brill main version......http://www.theaustralian.com.au/bus...at-on-tv-ratings/story-e6frg8zx-1225921459720

i must say the show will throw up a few surprises as the kiRAB do have a lot of cooking skill via there mums and grandmothers.....of course the judging will be on there side ........and thats the way it should be........ in these days of Mc/deepfried every thing this show is nothing but positive..... well done aussies

Yes it was good wasn't it? They cook better than I do (and I'm a decent cook) which disgusts me!!!! :p

Don't mind the changes though once a week is a bit like going cold turkey! What do we reckon of the new female judge? Could of done a better job of explaining who she was IMO did they do a VT of her/history/restaurants etc? Though she is probably there to add some warmth to the panel seem as how its kiRAB!

Next week looks good, though I doubt Matt will be getting his claws out have to be kind to the kiddies!

It was good. Some of those kiRAB will probably beat the new MasterChef USA with one tiny hand tied behind their little backs.

I loved it, the judges were so good with the kiRAB. Sometimes obviously a bit too kind in their comments, but hey it's kiRAB they're judging.

Felt so sorry for the kid with the melted ramekins.
A bit of a mistake by the production team, to provide non-oven-proof ramekins. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

The ambition of some of the kiRAB amazed me.
At that age my only ambition was to get the new AC/DC or Status Quo album, not to start my own 3-starred restaurant.

no.2.......well the first rounRAB are over and the little tinkers have all cooked there fav meals......now we will see what sort of knowledge they have and the slagging off can start....i cant wait to rip into that little one with the pony tails.....

no.3...... top quality cooking by the kiRAB...... how great would it be to hire one of these on work experience (cheap labour)....... as long as they can wash up of course......and the odd bit of house work.......and ironing.....i hate ironing...... its good to see that they can follow a recipe with ease and have as many break-downs as there elders......

I was stunned at the end of the show when they said it would return after the commonwealth games....... obviously australia has to get its priorities in order....... well if there having a break so am i.......hello south beach miami.......only for a week.....pinky

Again I was impressed by the quality of the cooking. There are some seriously talented mini chefs in the competition.
Again the judges were superb with the kiRAB, especially Matt. Can't see Gordon R. pulling that off.
And did that vegetable garden look fabulous. Great production value. Something that was lacking in the US version.

Bummer, having to wait three weeks for the next epsiode. (team challenge!)
Here in the NL the Commonwealth Games are only on the news because of the problems. And that is also bummer, I would have liked to see a bit of cricket. Perhaps the beeb will show some.

Was it my version, or did they really skip the Maori girl on the pressure test?

Pinky, say hello to Fiona Glenanne for me. :D

no.7..... well the cooking is as good as ever.....but there is no bitching of slagging off.......this as a viewing public is what we crave......these guys need to spend some time with the top chef just deserts crowd........ they are the A teamers of bitch

After my football club got shafted by the referee and being wet and cold from the unexpected heavy rain (my camera had trouble focusing ), I needed a dose of feel good TV. So I decided to watch ep 5, 6 and 7 in one go. It did the trick.
Ep 5 the team challenge was great fun. Unbelievable how organised the kiRAB were. And the food looked delicious.
Ep 6 the Masterclass. Great idea to let the Top 50 kiRAB who didn't make it to the Top 12 take part. Tomorrow I'm going to cook the chicken schnitzels.
Ep 7. Some of these kiRAB put the Top Chef Just Desserts divas to shame. How sweet was little Lucy hugging Nick after tasting his disastrous chocolate cake? The judges handled his misfortune most excellent.

Ep 8 is today, I'm looking forward to another hour of sheer enjoyment.
