Junie B. Jones, the quirky, imaginative kindergartner (now first grader) from the mind of Barbara Park, was my first series of chapter books I've ever read, and when I was a little girl I would draw the characters and imagine them as having their own cartoon. Now that I'm older, I see my little sisters reading the books, constantly adding new ones to their collection, and the thought has sprung up again. Could you see Junie B. working with her own cartoon, whether it be an E/I program on PBS, Cookie Jar, Hub, etc., or a new hit for either Nick, CN, or Disney?
For me, whenever I would read her books I would imagine the voice of Daveigh Chase (Lilo from Lilo & Stitch and Chihiro from Spirited Away) or Hilary Haag (Sayo from SuperGALS and Riku from DNAngel, or recently Emily Hahn, who voiced the adorable Bonnie on Toy Story 3). I haven't given animation too much thought, though, besides that I would fin the traditional 2D animation best.
