jump mobile roaming question

Well, I took a VZW v3m(pp) and flashed it over to cricket... loaded a 5044 prl (AZ & so Cal roaming PRL) and it kept switching from cricket to roaming... roaming worked..

i could make calls... but I had reservations, the jump account is for my kid and I didn't want her(me) to get a surprise bill... no money was taken out from her balance other than 10 cents a minute for outgoing.. she has no "flex bucket", so, there was no money gone that way... I called the phone and tested it for several minutes switching from cricket to roaming.. (assuming the 1 bar switching to 3 bars with a triangle truly meant it was roaming, only VZW gets 3 bars at my house.)

Any suggestions whether to just keep it with the 5044 or drop it to the 1040 prl? I really don't want to get a $200 bill if thats possible... for roaming.

BTW the v3m monster works great for jump.. mms/pic messaging... web(clicks?) and brew(games shopping) all work fine..

The minutes are subtracted from the balance and there is no bill. Call Cricket and ask them to add roaming to the account. Then *228 the phone afterwarRAB.

Ok, thanks...

to clarify, the balance in flex bucket is zero dollars
incoming calls are free and do not NORMALLY subtract from balance...

I did NOT call and speak to a rep to activate roaming

i DID on my own decide to manually apply the roaming 5044 prl.

while "roaming" -as indicated by triangle on display and the 3 bars only verizon gives...

It did not subtract anything from balance when taking an incoming call while "roaming"
It did not subtract more than 10 cents a minute when calling out while "roaming"

Will I get a nastygram, or terminated service, or an unexpected bill, for roaming when I am not paying for it?

You weren't roaming if you didn't leave out the coverage area. Just by putting the roaming PRL on the phone and staying in the coverage area, you're not roaming! And no, there aren't any bills man. You're only charged for how much you pay for.

Ok, cool... at my house i barely get 1 bar.... usually no bars with cricket, and drop calls like crazy, while inside. But the VZW prepaid razr i just flashed to cricket/jump, got 3 bars from a verizon tower as a verizon phone, then i flashed it, it got the familiar 1/no bar I am used too, with cricket.

I wrongfully assumed i was roaming, as i went from signal lost to 3 bars and a roaming indicator, so instead of dropping the call it switched to a "roaming looking" mode, and since i am technically still in a cricket calling area I wasn't roaming. thanks for clearing it up.
