Jumanji and Zathura

Hello

I have read both are very similar Movies.
Both about board games and adventure.

I have got Zathura on here to watch as I have not seen this yet.

But I really like Jumanji.

What do you think about these films?

Zathura is a rather poor imitation of Jumanji, to be honest.

Similar storyline, young kiRAB find an old board game, start playing and strange things happen. This one sees the childrens house shot into outer space, so the storyline revolves around robots, spaceships and spacemen.

But it's a rather empty affair, none of the characters are appealing, it does not have the scope of Jumanji and very, very little comedy at all.

Most of the action takes place inside the house, it's hardly Star Wars.

Kind of...it came from the same writer, and is a very similar story, but it does not share any of the same characters and takes place in a different location.

But of course the publicity will always exploit the links, no matter how tenuous they are.

'From the people who brought you...' is one of my favorites. It could be just the second assistant cameraman who worked on both movies, but it's enough to make a link.

You could say Zathura is Jumanji in space.
If anybody likes these sort of films then check out Lionsgate's Open Graves, which is a horror jumanji/Zathura

The good thing about Zathura is that Kristen Stewart is in it so if the storyline isn't working for you you can always sit back, relax, and whip the old man out.

Jumanji is the best, and Zathura is not as good as it in the slightest. Zathura is still very enjoyable though, I enjoyed it because of how much I loved Jumanji and their concepts are similar, with the real-life board game, etc.

Jumanji sucked ass - the cartoon was better, and even that was pretty crap. Havent seen the other bar the trailer, but that didnt look too hot either.

Jumanji and Zathura are both adaptations of books by Chris Van Allsburg, so it's not that Zathura ripped off Jumanji.

Zathura is the better film, too.
