Julie & Julia

I absolutely loved it. Just a good feeling movie and you hardly realiz(s)e it's Streep.

Not sure how much Julia Child was known in the UK, I am assuming not too much unless you were a true cooking afficianado. Not like it is today with Nigella and Jamie and others on this side of the Atlantic with the advent of Cable and the abundance of cooking shows...ie. celebrity cooks.

Julia Child was an icon to the older set of cooking gurus.

a fun interview on Good Morning America a while ago.

First I heard about the film was when the trailer appeared on TV. When they started with introducing Julia Child I thought it was going to be about her.. and her being a spy.

yea heard kermode talk about her accent, guess she wasn't known well in the uk. he was complaining that people found her impression of the accent cartoonish... but in reality her voice was distinctive and cartoonish...thats just how it was. iremember a comic doing a routine of how she would sound in bed..that was just hilarious and wrong at the same time. i think julia child is way more famous than the other julia in the film though. i never heard of the young julia before this film.

Just finished watching this wonderful film. I guess i'm biased being in love with food and cooking but I loved it. If De Niro is the Godfather of actors then streep must be the Godmother!
