Hi all!
I have a beige-colored maltipoo who is turning 4. Recently, I discovered that she started hiding underneath my couch. My house has carpets pretty much everywhere, thus, it is easy for fleas to hide. Anyway, ever since my dog started hiding under the couch, she seems to start scratching A LOT. I was holding her on my lap yesterday for an hour and soon after she got off, I realize I have a few "dots" on my hand. They look like insect bites. Furthermore, my thigh and leg is growing quite itchy too (because I was wearing shorts). I took a detailed look at her skin and fur today, but didn't find anything. My questions are:
1) I was looking at her fur with my eyes, will I be able to see any fleas, or other insects without a microscope anyway?
2) Do you think she has fleas?
3) If she does, should I completely sanitize my entire house?
4) Before she went under my couch, she doesn't seem to itch on other carpet areas
5) Can fleas be transmitted to humans (i.e. ME)
6) If it is not fleas, what other problems could cause this problem?
Thanks for those who can provide answers to my problem!!!
