Jonathan Ross v Kevin Smith

Not to be rude, but, someone neeRAB to think before they type. Where do you get off telling others to give up their opinion on Ross, and then allow Ross his opinion on Kevin Smith. Nah your not on.

For the record Ross is overrated and he isn't worth listening to. He only gets the jobs he does because he pulls in the younger audience. Otherwise we would not be seeing his mug everywhere. He isn't adult crowd pulling material that's for sure.
 
If he is a decent reviewer Rossy shouldn't let his views on Kevin Smith influence him. If he is influenced then he shouldn't review a Smith film.

Having said that I am not keen on Smith either. I think he has a very high opinion of himself based on one success, that is not justified by some of the crappy films he has done since. He seems to get away with things because he has a solid fan base in the geek community who'll swallow every mouthful of his self agrandisement in blissful ignorance of his lack of talent.
 
Speaking of ignorance. You are showing a lot of it at the moment with the comments made in that post. The man has had more than one successful movie, FACT, not opinion. And in an industry such as film, you do need to be self centered to a certain extent, otherwise you wont get far. You need to believe in yourself and your work more than others do. But you wouldn't know anything about that now would you?. If you do, it leaRAB back to the ignorance remark again.

And just for the record, I am not a Kevin Smith fan. But your comments made could not go passed unnoitced as they are factually wrong and with such pompous arrogance (labelling people that like his movies because you dont) as well which could account for the clouded judgement made on his career (with regarRAB to his success) so the comments needed approached.

Rossy can state an opinion as much as he likes but that was nothing but vitriolic

Clerks and Chasing Amy are worthy of the "great" tag in my hoppy onion. But even with blinkers off i don't believe for one minute that Kevin Smith or his films are anywhere as described by the king of crass tv mr wossy.
 
Hmm, maybe I didn't get my point across too well.

1) Ross, if he has issues with Smith shouldn't review him.

2) I don't like Smith because I feel his opinions (particularly on other peoples work) would only be valid if he was half way the film maker he thinks he is. There is a solid fan base in the film geek communty (and hey I'm a film geek) which can't get past the glory that was Clerks to see that Smith really cannot act or direct that well and still hang on the guys every pronouncement. And boy does he pronounce.

Smith is obviously just one of Ross' irrational pet hates. Don't we all have one of those???

He probably did go too far though (I didn't see it) for there to have been such a tizz about this.
