A 40-year-old woman who was a member of a Baptist church was getting married for the first time. She had waited a long time for the right man to come along. She had found him, but she confided to their pastor that she was still nervous.
The pastor, wanting to encourage the woman decided to put 1 John 4:18 in the program at the wedding.
It reads: "There is no fear in love. But real love drives away fear..."
He had his secretary type it up, but the secretary, having been so sleepy, looked up the wrong verse, and out John 4:18, instead, which read:
"For you have had five husbands and the one you now have is not your own. What you have said is true."
