I'm an 18 years old female and currently a senior in high school. I'm thinking about joining the army but I want to study psychology. So basically, I want to be an army psychologist. I heard that if I join the army after I get my degree, I'd become an officer. However, I'm not U.S. citizen. I do have a permanent resident card (green card) Does that mean that I can only enlist? If i enlist right after high school, would I still be able to pursuit a career to be a psychologist? Where will they send me after BCT? If i enlisted, would they pay for my college so i can study psychology, then I'll work for them after? I know that i should talk to an army recruiter but I've been told that they twist things because they get benefits from recruiting people.
Also, what is BCT like for women? is it possible to fail it? I am physically fit. So i'm not worried about the PT part. I can do 35 push ups in 2 mins and 150 sit ups in 2 mins. I also run 2 miles for 15 mins. I am concerned about qualifying for the other trainings such as handling a gun or night combat operation training.
