this is mostly for coast gaurd /marines
Im a 17 year old kid i need some opinion on joining the coast gaurd/marines. i still havnt graduated highschool. i really dont want to go to college because plain and simple i just dont like it. I think joining a branch in the military would be great for me to set out on my life and teach me to be strong rather than just living at home and going to college. the other branch im considering is the marines but first i need detail on the coast gaurd So i have a few questions:
1. What are the steps to become one?
2. After you get in the coast gaurd what do you do?
3. Does the coast gaurd fight in wars?
4. Will i be away from home? (i live in NY)
5.Will i be making money? If so how much?
6. Will i be learning a profession also?
Thats all i can think of at this time if i left anything importan out please answer.
