It's not that I'm not proud of my sexual orientation, I just don't think it's anyone's business to know. I want to join the LGBT club in my University because I want to be around people like me + I want to make a difference. But I'm a bit worried. Would it be weird if I didn't discuss my sexual orientation? Will I make good friends?

im sure once you join the club, you will definatly make more friends there.
maybe at first you may not want to share your sexual orientation (and you dont have to) but once you start hearing everyone else speak about it, you might feel more comfortable to talk about it.
