Johnathan ross loves superhero movies. as he always says on his chatshow.
but he didt like the dark knight becuase in his opinion it borroed to much from the comics.....Yea OK ha.

is it because hes a spidey geek he praised spidey3 as the best of the lot.
batman was never gona outdo spidey but DARk k is supriseing everyone now and it is looking likely to.meaning spideyfans(JR) wil be dissing dark knight
spidey recieved a lot of flack from the fans lastyear

Doubt it. Most Spider-man/Marvel fans I know (myself included) were very disappointed with Spidey 3, and aren't afraid to say so.

Batman seems one of the few DC properties that really appeals to Marvel's fanbase, IMO.

Personally, I think a few backhanders were given out from Sony when it came to reviewing Spiderman 3, the majority of so called critics loved it and yet the majority of an even bigger fanbase hated it (me being one of em)..

id like to know if christian bale was appearing on his chatshow would the review be different.:p

just something about johnathan ross that bugs me
because he does not like it it makes the radio news and paper news-haha who the hell is he:rolleyes:

ERRRR, well amongst his jobs is one of film critic. And as we , thankfully, live in a free country, he is entitled to his opinion, EVEN if it differs from YOURS:rolleyes: So he didnt like it. So what, it isnt going to stop people going to it, apart from a few idiots who might believe what ONE critic has said, and presume, stupidly, that theirs would be the same reaction:rolleyes:

JR liked Batman Forever.
As I remember he was quoted on the back of the VHS box saying "The Film of the Year".
So maybe because the new Batman franchise isn't kiddie/comedy orientated he doesnt like it.

This film, and the previous installment, does borrow a lot from from the comics.
Saying that though... it is a film based on the comics, so 'borrowing' the best bits from the comics is only natural.

This film has the joker more from FM's Dark Knight. And it was very satisfying to watch.:)

THE new Batman movie has smashed box office recorRAB by taking s77.7million in its first weekend.

And The Dark Knight has outdone another superhero in the process, eclipsing Spider-Man 3's previous best figure.

Experts now expect the movie - starring Christian Bale as Batman and the late Heath Ledger - to shoot past the s100million mark by the end of the week.

Distributors Warner Bros were thrilled with the opening of the Batman Begins sequel in the US.

Spokesman Dan Fellman said: "We knew it would be big but we never expected to dominate the marketplace."

There has been a massive buzz about the film and the performance of Ledger as The Joker.

The actor died in January from an accidental prescription-drug overdose and has been tipped for a posthumous Oscar.

But BBC film critic Jonathan Ross has questioned whether Ledger deserves it and claims The Dark Knight is "boring".

Ross, 47, said: "It isn't as good as it should be. Long perioRAB are boring. There is no sense of fun, it is all a bit gloomy and self-serious."

Ross said of Ledger's role: "It's nothing compared with his performance in Brokeback Mountain or Monster's Ball.

"He is perfectly OK in it but nothing to go crazy about.

"I'm sure, sadly, if the guy hadn't died tragically young, they wouldn't be making all this fuss over it."

sounRAB like a spideyfanboy dissing it because its now up to par with the spidey franchise.

Ross is a tool!

He wouldn't know a good film if it sat him down and slapped him in the moth correcting his R problem!

The Dark Knight looks incredible, anyone can see that! Spidey 3 was gash!

i liked it too but cmon it was not he best of the lot
did you think?

i just think saying its all gloomy and selfserious is is not ok for batman but alright for spiderman is too fanboy bias IMO

spidey3 took itself way too far and serious and overthetop with the romance and drama? no?

people dont start dissing me this a debate form:o

He was actually quoted as calling it "One of the Greatest Action Adventure Films of All Time".

Translation : Jonathan Ross is about as reliable when it comes to movie reviews as his brother.

SOunRAB like he thinks all comic books are "fun"?? Graphical novels are just another medium for telling a story and some are funny, some serious and some a mix...This Batman is based on more darker material, so is naturally like it, just like Batman Begins. It's like th Hulk getting bad reviews for being too serious. I actually thought Ang Lee did a good job on that one and bucked the usual Comic to film adaptation trend.
Whatever will he make of the Watchmen film??

The man is allowed an opinion. I personally also think the film looks like over-hyped boring crap but I''ll reserve judgement untill I've seen.

Not sure it's a 'fanboy' thing, these "opposite of everyone else" reviews always create a bit of incredulity.

Anyone remember Empire's five star review of Star Wars stinker Attack of the Clones (now re-reviewed as a generous three)?

Ouch.
