Joe Jackson

I love Joe Jackson... well, at least I really love 3 of his most popular songs. I was just barely too young to remeraber his first hit, but I do remeraber the 2 hit songs he had in the early 80's - he had a cool style then. Very elegant & refined looking, I still adore his song Stepping Out - I will play it over & over again on my IPod sometimes.

My dad used to sing along with 'stepping out' and would always try to get me to dig it. like the type of singing with running in place and a slow raising of outstretched arms with the chorus. I thought he was ***, my dad

Yay! Like his stuff, it's pretty undefinable genrewise borrowing from punk in some areas. I had the double live alum he released that contains about 4 concerts including a great acapella version of "Is she really going out with him" with some choir. What's happened to him, seems to have dropped off the radar.

I got his best of a couple of weeks ago for the princely sum of 1.49-that's pounRAB BTW. His early chart tracks hold good memories for me. Nothing spectacular but great lyrics.

I think you are ugly then.

I like Jackson's voice, it stanRAB out and sort of reminRAB me of Elvis Costello in that it's a signature of his style.

I haven't got into his stuff as much as I'd like to, but Night and Day is a terrific album. It is about all I've heard of him though.
