Job listings say the unemployed need not apply

Been there done it.

Again. I have shit lined up. But I do like secrecy on the internet. Because I am sure some dick here would gladly call up my future employer and say I raped children or some shit.

Man. I see this shit all the time.

It's hilarious. Totally my fault the owner of my company decided to close shop and lay everyone off.

Nothing is wrong with my resume, qualifications, or work ethic.

But I can't get a job, because of this stupid fucking rule.

I think 'hiring the most skilled applicant' called the fairy tale world. I'm sure it happens occasionally, but the hiring process itself is a difficult one. Weeding though applications/resumes, interviewing people, trying to figure out if the person is really like that or if they're just nervous. Trying to figure out if the person's qualifications are actually legitimate - do they actually know what they claim? Do they seem like someone that will show up to work every day? Are they safe to have around clients/customers? How do they handle stress? How do you ascertain who can bring the most value to the company? Is their ailing mother going to die in a year and take their stellar career with her? Is this person someone that interviews really well (because they do it a lot), but in reality are just a 'bare minimum' type person?
Then add on top of that all the political BS that exists at every company. Let's hire this person over that because they're frienRAB of my brother in law. Let's hire that person over this one because they'll do the job for $35k/yr and this person expects $50k. Ignore the fact that this person has 3 or 4 years of experience and that person has none. Let's put out a job ad for a job that's already been filled internally, because we're required to post the job. Plus all of the not-really-legal reasons people get hired - hiring this person because they're obviously married and that person isn't. Perhaps ethnic group, or gender.
People aren't cookie cutter and neither are businesses. And, well, people are people. I suppose I'm just lacking in thinking of people in job capacities where they're really just interchangeable cogs. Everyone brings positives and negatives with them to an organization. I guess there's probably lots of 'interchangeable cog' type jobs, but when you have an employee who isn't reliable, or an employee who has an eye for detail -- or other great personality trait, suddenly those cogs aren't so interchangable.

... lol

Some people are unlucky, but some people are also greedy.

I know a lot of durabasses in 2005-2007 who decided to become real estate agents and loan agents because of the real estate boom.

It's not a vacation. And it's not fun.

And there is still a small/tiny fraction of a chance I don't get the job. Who knows. The economy could tank because of the debt ceiling and funding to finish the hotel is lost and my job evaporates.

I honestly stress the fuck out every day. I wish people would stop saying vacation.

So really what we have in this thread is an unemployed graduate program dropout who's kid won't stop crying because his daRAB a faggot canadian, going around telling 22% of the US unemployed that they are lazy, incompetent, and that the reason they lost their job, or why it takes an average of 9 months to find a new one, is all their own fault. Has absolutely NOTHING to do with the worst economy since the great depression.

This is 100% true. My connections, education, references, knowledge, etc, all played into me getting this new job. It isn't like someone right off the street can walk in and do what I do. It takes years of experience and honestly, when you have these skills, you aren't out of work and if you are, it isn't for long. I know people in the IT World here in Atlanta that have up and just quit their jobs without having another lined up. They were able to find comparable jobs in a relatively short time. Why? 'Cause they are good, they know people, they have the experience and knowledge, etc.

When you are good, you aren't out of work for long.

I've schooled you once. Mad Punk inDC believes I'm a college dropout. You may wish to consider what that might mean about the rest of his beliefs about me

Well, I know that you have the credentials and are a very intelligent person. But you have been treating me like shit and speaking on matters that you dont really have that must knowledge about. Hence my laughing at his bashing of you.
