Job Hunt

I can see why college students get depressed when they leave home. I'm down to $9.20 and I'm trying to find a job, but I don't have a car or even a bike, so that really limits where I can work. I've walked over 2 miles from my dorm looking for places that are hiering and nobody is. I really need money. I thought that with all the places around here SOMEONE would be looking for help. Wish me luck. I'm going back on the prowl tomorrow after class.

Yeah. The school actually has a web site for jobs in the area, but they either need you over the holidays, they're for upper classmen, or they aren't during times when I can work. I'm going to check into a couple of them anyway and see if they'll work around my classes.

Check the school cafeterias. They will usually work with your class schedule. I worked at the cafeteria in my freshman dorm, and usually had enough money for whatever I needed.

But if I get them to take me off campus to get applications and I get hired at one of those places, how am I going to get to work on time on a regular basis? I can't depend on other people for rides all the time. Sure I could get a bus pass, but then I'm at the mercy of public transit. I'd rather just find a job on campus.

BTW, I turned in an application for a catering job that's through the school's cafeteria. If I don't get that job, they're looking for cooks too. It's not something I'd want to do neccesarily, but it pays well. ($7.50-$10)

That's an awsome idea, but I don't know much about computers and I know even less about fixing them. I think I'm just going to walk around to the different offices and ask if they need anyone to do any work. Who knows? Maybe I'll get lucky.

wehn i went job hunting i tried to find a job that i woulde enjoy. so i went looking at some of the night clubs around town and to my surprise one that was only 10 minuts or so from wear i live needed a part time bouncer so im like yeah whats the pay and the guy said 200$ a night (i woulde from 5:00 til around 1:00) and i coulde get into the club free. so i thought to myself this aint gona happen much so i took the job. the bad thing is i only work 2 days a week but it is still a wiked job. the only downside is the hours and i have to get up to go to uni in da mourning.

Most colleges offer student working positions, you should check into that. That probably won’t help much right now, but might work out good for you next semester.Cabs aren't that expensive.

You can always sell your body. I did, and I made a couple of quarters and herpes. Plus, I did it on campus! Didn't have to walk anywhere, I could work out of the comfort of my own room.

There's the library as well. Every college has a job center where they post on bulletin boards and stuff I'm sure you'll find something.

As far as a bike goes...check garage sales and stuff, you'll find something CHEAP!

Where is it you're going to school again?
