Joan & Adam Thread : b/c they both have eccentric talents (Joan of Arcadia)
tsinthestars- Great post! They did have great chemistry and I just ignore the whole Adam with another girl bit. I dont know what the writers were thinking.
Some good ol quotes I love
Joan: I know why you hate Noveraber.
Adam: Who told you?
Joan: I was at the grave yard. It's a long story.
Adam: I always, uh, made her something for her birthday. She liked it. She
said, uh, Don't buy me something, it doesn't tell me anything. She said, "this
is like having a piece of you to take with me". Uh, she said stuff like that.
Joan: You miss her.
Adam: Doing this helps. You know, it's like she's watching me. And I know
that sounRAB stupid, but...
Joan: You talk to angels.
Adam: I'm glad you came by.
Joan: Me, too.
Joan: Are you okay?
Adam: Yeah, Joan, I'm fine.
Joan: I liked it better when you called me Jane.
Adam: Those days are over.
Joan: Why are you mad at me?
Adam: I don't know. Maybe, uh...maybe I'm bad at stuff like this. But we
kissed. It's not exactly like I've kissed a lot of girls. Maybe I've only kissed one.
Joan: Right.
Adam: Well, maybe it meant something to me.
Joan: Well, maybe it meant something to me too.
Adam: I don't...I don't know what to do with it now.
Joan: Me neither.
Adam: You know, maybe it was like that, uh, anti-drug guy says. You know,
romantic love. It's like a mental illness. It just happens, you know, and then
what are you going to do?
Joan: Maybe we just aren't ready.
Joan: Hey, what are you drawing?
Adam: You.
Joan: But I never got a chance to sit for you.
Adam: Well, I didn't need you to.
Joan: Adam. You know how you said I could talk to you about anything, and
I said I knew that?
Adam: Yeah.
Joan: I lied. I think I've been afraid to talk to you about almost everything.
Adam: Why?
Joan: I didn't want to mess up what we have.
Adam: Jane...
Joan: I didn't take back my photos from the yearbook. I got fired. I'm not a
photographer, or an artist, like Iris. I'm not a literary editor, or a science
geek, or anything. I mean, I've tried to be, but I'm not. I'm really just digging
around in the garbage, trying to find something that matters.
Adam: That's what I love about you, Jane.
Joan: Yeah?
Adam: Yeah.
Joan: So why are you here?
Adam: Iris is a good person.
Joan: I know. It's just that her voice...drives me crazy.
Adam: It's her real voice.
Joan: I know.
Adam: It drives me crazy, too.
Joan: But you love her.
Adam: I like her a lot.
Joan: And you want me to like her, too.
Adam: No. But I want you to like me.
Joan: Adam, I don't just like you.
Adam: Yeah. Yeah, me too.
Joan: My parents, lying to my face. What's so hard about telling the truth?
Adam: I don't think we'll ever understand them. Let's never be like that.
Joan: What if it just happens? Like skin getting all wrinkly.
Adam: We won't let it.
Joan: Adam, I know I've been such a flake with you.
Adam: Unchallenged.
Joan: It's just, that first kiss. The one that was just supposed to go away.
Adam: Iris and me are together, Jane.
Joan: I know. But last night...
Adam: I talked to Iris. I told her how I felt.
Joan: How's that?
Adam: The same way you feel. I was just scared, Jane. I got kinda hurt
before. But then I thought...about you, and being scared didn't matter that much.
