JL Audio - really that good?

Looking for a new sub, something lighter than my former Pioneer TS-W3006SPL sub. My first thought was JL Audio. But after looking at them, I can't see how they are good - but I could be wrong. The RMS power on most of them is low, so I would have to sell my amp also. The magnets are tiny.

But everyone I talk to says they throw out some bass. What do you guys think?
Im looking at the W3 or the W6, what do you guys think is the better of the 2?
