I was planning on getting a full setup with one JL Audio 12w6v2 subwoofer powered by a JL Audio 500/1v2 amp and I was also planning on powering my Pioneer Premier Speakers and Head Unit (already installed) with a JL Audio 300/4v2 amp. I want to make my own box made to JL's specifications, but instead of having one port, I was going to make 2 round ports (one on each side of the sub) while still maintaining the same total ported area. Along with all this, I was thinking of getting a capacitor.
My question is, since I am only getting one sub and would have two amps showing, would it be safe to get two capacitors? One for each of the amps... This came to mind due to the fact that I want my whole setup to be symmetrical and there would be no place to put just one cap without throwing off the symmetry. Therefore, by me getting two capacitors, I would put one on each side of the subwoofer eaqually apart. Would that be ok? Or would it be too much or not work at all? I wasnt planning on going all out, just 1 farad each.
And another question... Are there any good and cheap 1 farad (or around there) capacitors out there with a blue voltage display? My neons inside my car are all blue so it would be nice to match EVERYTHING inside my car with blue lighting and not have a tiny red display throw it all off...
