Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell in...Horton Hears a Who

I wonder if he'll actually STAY with the role this time. Jim was originally cast as the Racoon in Over the Hedge, but I believe it's been said he dropped out because Jim literally gets into character, and couldn't commit to being with the single character for the length a voice over requires. I don't see how this character and the VA schedule over a long period of time will be any different...

Still, if it all pans out, I look forward to seeing how he translates to the world of animation. He's such a character in real life, it'll be interesting to see how much of it comes through in an animated performance.

And I absolutely love Carrell and everything he does...so. I also look forward to hearing him on screen. Sounds like a rather fun movie. :)

I think Horton did a good job ruining ITSELF!*

Oh, VOICING? That's better. I thought it was going to be another really creepy-looking live-action adaptation. Still, they seem a little too obsessed with giving these roles to big comedy actors. But I guess I trust Steve Carrell.

I love Jim Carrey (he was the only good thing about the "Grinch" remake IMO, if he weren't in it...I wouldn't be able to sit through it at all)!

And I remember loving this book as a kid, so this should be great!

I heard the Broadway soundtrack of that and hated it, I felt like it was making fun of Mr. Geisel. Then a local high school puts it on and I'll admit that I was so inspired and it was one of the best live musicals that I have ever seen! So it depends.

Anyways, I like Jim Carrey, we'll see how this turns out.

Screenshots from the movie from ComingSoon.net, still in progress. These look excellent.

:D AMAZING. This is how Cat in the Hat should've looked! I'm glad that Carrey's finally gooing to be in an animated movie. I'm hoping this'll be as good as it looks.

Another vote for "looks great". Just look at the elephant wrinkles on the first pic, or the hair on the second one. And the rounded, cartoony backdrops seem to remain true to the books. I can't wait to see this in motion, especially since I haven't been disappointed by Blue Sky's films (visually) yet.

Wow...just wow. How lovely. Now if the adaptation of Dr. Suess' books are just as good as those screenshots, this film will be a winner in my book.

Surely it doesn't scare you as much as the live-action Cat in the Hat or Grinch...

You know, those screenshots -- the Horton one, especially -- don't even look like CGI. They look like Photoshop-colored drawings. If it looks that good in motion, it'll be a real treat.

Uggh... I'm getting really sick of Carrell. I hope he bottoms out soon. If Carrey's in it, I'll check it out. It is, after all, Seuss. A very important part of my childhood. No, no... you're mixing The Grinch with The Cat in the Hat. The Grinch movie wasn't actually that bad. Whereas CitH sucked greatly.
