Jetset & Evdo

I just got a jetset to replace my messager, and I notice that the icon says 1x. I live in Las Vegas, and this is a EVDO area, what do I need to do to make it say EV?
 
Call cust serv and tell them to refresh all the features on your acct. I work in a corp retail store and have found this to work for customers when there evdo isn't working. Someone in a corp store can also do this for you. After its' done, then *228 your phone. All else fails, load the correct PRL
 
Are you on a plan with data? It shouldn't matter but some have said it makes a difference. Most likely you just need to *228, sometimes it doesn't download an evdo prl on the first try.
 
I am on the $50 a month plan.

I have tried *228 several times, it keeps giving me PRL 58557. It gave me the same PRL when I was in San Diego over the weekend and just tried it here and it gave me the same one.

I just called CS, he said that he did a full refresh. I have to say he sounded like a robot, to many sorry sir, and thank you sir's for me personally.

I am going to wait a bit, and try *228, and see if it downloaRAB a different PRL.

If anyone has any other ideas let me know
 
Well still no dice. It still says 1x. I guess I will call them tomorrow and see if someone can help out, or head to a store.

Also.. about me manually loading my PRL, I haven't seen any of the PRL's listed that I have on my phone in the PRL thread, maybe the Las Vegas market is different, not sure.
 
That is what I was figuring. I just need someone to confirm that the jetset should be saying ev and not 1x. It is a pretty nice phone other then that, it has a similar feel to my frienRAB krazr.
 
i don't think most markets have a roaming prl for evdo broadcasting yet. i live in a new evdo market, if you have roaming, the phone will just get a roaming prl, if you don't have roaming then you will get evdo. the jetset is the only phone that i have seen that will not download any evdo prl even though it should. all the rest of the phone that evdo capable do download the correct evdo prl if the acct does not have roaming.
 
So I am asking for to much? Maybe cricket is waiting for nov 12th, for the metropcs roaming agreement deal to release a tri-band evdo roaming prl. Or..... Should I just go down to cricket and tell them to make it work?
 
If the JetSet is dual Nam or can be enabled to support it, you can switch between 2 prls with ease. Just load a roaming prl on one NAM and an EVDO prl on the other.
 
if you go to a corporate store they should be able to load the prl for you. just tell them when you did *228 it said to go into a cricket store if you had roaming.
 
So I goto a corp cricket store today, and they tell me yeah we know about it, there was a tech in the other day with the software to make it work right, but we don't have it yet. Call back next week.

I will update you all when I hear more. For now the jetset is set at 1x until some software fix is applied. I am guessing with you simple3, just a prl update.
 
Gexx PM me your phone nuraber and the name on the account and i'll forward it to our RF guy and he should be able to get it going. I can get it to him directly, save you going to one of ours stores and getting a maybe.
