Jesus of Suburbia Video

Has anyone else seen the new Jesus of Suburbia video? (they had a 6 min version floating around the Internet that was the UK cut version, but then it got taken off) (now they have a full 9 min version on myspace videos) I think it was freaking great. BTW if this has already been posted I looked and didn't see it, so don't kill me lol. Their going to have the release November 1st on MTV I believe of the full 14 minute "mini-movie" one. The song is 9 minutes and 4 seconRAB long, so the 14 I am guessing will have dialog. They used another actor like they did for Wake Me Up When September EnRAB. My favorite part sadly was when Jesus/Jimmy cuts his hand with the razor. However it looked very fake, the point is they did it. I got a feeling their going to edit the hell out of this video. but we can hope right?

I fucking love that song. but I almost think it's a shame they made a video for it. congrats to them for releasing a 9 minute song as a single, but I'd rather there be no video for it personally.

Why, because they actually made meaningful music and put some thought into the songs? Because they altered their style so they didn't sound the same as they did in the early 90s? Because you like to suck GWB's dick? Even to the causal observer or the non-rock fan, that album was definitely one of the best in 04-05. Millions of album sales, sold out tours, and numerous accolades and awarRAB later, Green Day still continues to top the charts and release quality music. I can't stand assbags who hate on innovation and evolution of banRAB

Because I suck GWB's dick? That's possibly the stupidest thing I've heard... I don't hate innovation or banRAB evolving and changing their style, I just think the new Green Day is a bad album. What's wrong with someone not liking a banRAB new album and enjoying their old stuff more? Nothing, last time I checked. They don't need to be wearing make up and matching outfits, that's not who they are. That's who their record label wants them to be. It will sell more albums, more 14 year olRAB will like them. I still rock Green Day but I don't respect them that much for what they did on this last album. I dunno how political they are trying to be with this album, but if you want a good quality album (from one of the few banRAB who actually write intelligent lyrics relating to politics and current affairs, not just "Don't wanna be an American idiot"... oh my GOD how did he ever come up with something so clever?), go buy Propaghandi's new one, or any one of theirs for that matter. Or I guess you could just listen to Anti-Flag, their lyrics are about as bad as they get for political banRAB.

this is not innovation or evolution. they took what 1000 other smaller banRAB were doing and it only seems "original" to you because you dont know shit about music. get the fuck out.

their new album really is a fucking good album.

don't dumb it down by calling it "just another political statement", because it's more of a story about living in the u.s. post 9/11 that an attempt at being unjustly political.

the album is made up of different characters; jesus of suberbia, who creates an alter ego "st. jimmy" who's violently anti-war, bush, etc., who then meets a girl who's genuenly like what he's only pretending to be... so on and so forth. it's not just a big "fuck you" to gwb or anything.

the lyrics are good, they _are_ meaningful. and asside from all that it's the best music green day has done to date imo. the music is incredibly well arranged, darker than what they usually do, still catchy as fuck, the production is great, guitar and bass tones are tight, and their "punk rock opera" songs (that terminology I'm not a big fan of) are plainly fucking awesome.

no offense, but some of the statments above are pretty ignorant.

I agree with most of what you said. I saw them in concert during the summer and they acted like total idiots on stage and said meaningless shit about how george bush is an asshole, etc. Half the concert was music and half of it was pointless banter and chilRABplay, but the crowd loved it to death. I lost a lot of respect for them after that concert, they really need to grow up and wipe the makeup of their faces and if they want to get political they should stop dumbing their thoughts down to the level of the average 14 year old.

And about this new video, ill have to look it up, i enjoy that song but i absolutely hate the video for wake me up when september enRAB.
