If you're a fan of Agalloch, Opeth or earlier Katatonia (Brave Murder Day era) or just the melodic doom/death genre you need to do one of the following: (1) Download this cd (2) Kill yourself.

The option is yours.

Info:

The Morningside - The Wind, The Trees, And The Shadows Of The Past. The band is from Moscow, Russia and the cd is fucking beautiful.

Make a free acount here www.kerrazy-torrents.net and download here http://www.kerrazy-torrents.net/index.php?showtopic=110476 or download it. I'll upload it if people show interest and don't want the torrent. Here is the band homepage http://www.morningside.ru/index.html. Maybe you can read Russian.

I spend a lot of time listening to and downloading metal. It really bothers me that this band has gone undetected on my radar for the last half a year.

Huge fan of Agalloch and Katatonia so I'm definitely gonna check out this release. I can't believe that I've never even heard of this band though. Thanks for the recommendation.

Same here mate. Ashes Against The Grain was amazing and these guys have never disappointed me so I can imagine how great the new cd will be.

You should also check out Ikuinen Kaamos if you have not already heard them. Very much like Agalloch and Opeth.

The songs are apparently supposed to be available for free on the band's site but the links are dead so I upped it here:

Haha cheers, was just about to download it from Kerrazy, but thanks for uploading it anyway.

I suppose it'll save time for people who aren't registered members of Kerrazy already. Cheers.

I would still register for Kerrazy. People post a lot of good metal every day in the metal release section and there is no real nothing keeping track of your ratio. Not that that matters too much because it's really easy to seed past 1:1 , but I would register still. I'm downloading Ikuinen Kaamos The Forlorn now. Thanks for the recommendation.

Oh, I'm already a registered member at Kerrazy. Have been for a while now. Although was just saying for other people who weren't registered members.

The Forlorn is a bloody brilliant album. Great concept and amazing music.

Just listened to the whole of The Morningside album. SounRAB very nice indeed. Can really hear the Agalloch influence. Really enjoying the album nevertheless.

I'm listening to it now. I've been listening to it all day since I downloaded it. The resemblence to Brave Murder Day and Pale Folklore is undeniable. The guitar tone is completely BDM and the vocals are similar to Agalloch with the whispers and higher pitched screams. Honestly, I'm listening to The Wind on repeat. The song is haunting and I can't get enough.

pretty good so far. not my regular kind of music but cool, reminRAB me of Novembers Doom. If you like this stile check them out. I personally like things a little heavier so I prefer The Pale Haunt Departure (2005) but if you want stuff more like what you just posted (not so heavy, more melodic etc) get The Novella Reservoir (2007).

let me know if you haven't heard them I'll host some.

These are banRAB I think you'd like and the corresponding cd.

November's Doom - the Novella Reservoir

Nothing on youtube from this album but here's from an older album (new one is the heaviest)

Slumber - Fallout

Swallow the Sun - Hope

Daylight Dies - Dismantling Devotion

Draconian - The Burning Halo
This is has a gothic edge to it but it's great stuff.

Also, a band called Rapture from Finland (not to be confused with the Mexican Death Metal band. This is some of the best melodic doom/death that I've heard and I'm dying for them to release another album. If you can't find them let me know because I have their discography. This band is a must.

Then there's more suicidal doom like Forgotten Tomb which you're probably familiar with.

Everything on youtube is shit for this band.

Most of these banRAB have better stuff that isn't on youtube, if you're interested or like these banRAB, this is the death/doom metal section of my metal collection with a lot of similar banRAB. Ask and I'll upload.

yeah I love Novembers Doom.

Slumber is fucking sick, I really liked what I heard. I actually kinda liked Draconian too. all the stuff you posted is sick. I'll have to pick up some Slumber soon though.

I'm still looking for something really brutal though, I don't even know if Doom is the right description. like super slow brutal death metal.

listen to this song. its Blessed Are The Sick by Morbid Angel. MA isn't Doom but they have some great slow songs. I'm looking for shit like that as well, just not sure if it exists. even slow goregrind would be awesome.

you got anything resembling this?

I'll check it out when I get home and let you know. Slumber is fantastic and it's a damn shame they only released that once cd (Fallout).
