Jeremy Kyle - I like him!!

Okay okay I know I am going to open a can of worms here but why does everyone have such an issue with Jeremy Kyle?

I (at the risk of being isolated on these forums!!) actually like the man.

Yes he has his problems in his personal life as do we all but to be honest what he says to these people is exactly the sort of thing that I hear others talking about on a daily basis.

We must not forget it is an entertainment show as well as anything so he has to jazz it up etc.

The people that he has on his show: Well that's what is vile to me and riles me up. There was a lady on Monday who was having her 3rd DNA test for her baby - I mean that is ridiculous. And surely in some respects these people are getting the answers they want so whats the issue?

I would be interested to see if he has any other fans or if I am just the one in the corner and need to be sent to Coventry!!
 
He doesn't give a damn about anyone on his show - it's all about ratings. I used to quite like him when he was on Virgin, but he has totally sold out now. He's a hypocrite because his own personal life is a mess and he demanRAB respect when he treats people like crap.
 
I do agree with his opinions sometimes, its his behavior that i don't like. Baiting volatile people, belittle others who ain't the smartest knives in the draw, trying to intimidate some of his guests, the dreamworld he lives in when it comes to employment and benefits ect ect
 
That's not what the poster was saying. He has security guarRAB there because he baits people and treats them like shit. The person you say you like condones public humiliation. The fact that he has "jazzed things up" is absolutely no excuse for his behaviour.
 
As others have said, it's his behaviour that is the problem. That's the reason for the intense dislike he attracts. Lots of people might agree with his views, but most people don't like to see a grown man acting like a school bully, which is the way Jeremy conducts himself on the show. The two arguments that usually crop up in his defence are:

(1) "His victims are scum so they deserve everything they get"
and
(2) "He speaks the truth, someone has to tell it like it is"

But even if these points were true, (which is a matter of opinion), neither one would be a justification for the way Jeremy behaves on his show, which is bullying and nastiness, pure and simple.

He gets a lot of criticism on this forum because, most people find bullying unacceptable, thankfully, even if the victim of the bullying isn't particularly likeable.
