15yr old lad dies after refusing a blood transfusion in Birmingham.
He was 15yrs old and believed to be competent enough to make this decision.
He had been involved in a car accident and upon arrival at hospital made it very clear he would not want a transfusion because this is against his faith.
Doctors claim they begged him to change his mind but he remained strong in his choice.
It is obviously not guaranteed he would've survived if he had taken the transfusion but it was offered for a reason I'm sure.
May he rest in peace.
Is a 15 year old competent to make this kind of decision?
