Jehovah's witnesses and sports?

If a boy in high school wanted to play foot ball for his school, is this right? Would he get in trouble? Is this wrong? Please explain.

I'm feeling like this is what I want to say to your question:

God speaks to the understanding of temporal beings, temporal beings called humans.
Yes, it is proper to think of God as a man; but he has all-knowledge. This is a key. Unlock such a door if you can.

He speaks the language of eternity.

You, on the other hand--with all due respect, are next to nothing.
So, don't be disturbed to find that God does hate
people who do wrong with evil intentions.
They will reap what they sow. He will darken their minds,
he will allow the spirit of evil--so far as they choose it--to lead them into spiritual death and bondage, the bondage of "want to, but can't." That is hell.

All you need to do is repent of your sins, declare repentance to others, and seek God with all your heart.

I am you.

They arent allowed to do anything where there is competition. They believe that the fun of being on a team, the excitement of winning games, are snares that can trap them and before they know it they neglect their mission, while at the same time being pulled down by bad associations, the spirit of competition and the desire to be popular—all this adds up to a combination that can get them kicked out of the Kingdom Hall.

First, it is a personal choice if a person wants to play sports or not. We do play them socially. We love to get together for a good game of football or volleyball. It is good natured and we do so without intending to hurt someone or without the attitude of "i must win no matter what". something to think about is that Jesus told us to be a peacable people. Are high school games meant to be fun? Dont people get hurt a lot? i am not saying that no one ever gets hurt when we play, but isnt the intention of someone playing for a school to hurt someone on the other team, to win at all costs? That kind of attitude should be discouraged.
for Breezy: We dont get in trouble with or thrown out if we choose to play.
