Jeff Buckley

i didn't get into his stuff untill i really listened it through thoroughly after liking only a couple songs. give it time and it might grow on you, at which point you'll most likely become borderline obsessed. do you like many other solo-type artists? try out Rufus Wainwright if u haven't already, perhaps you'll gain an appreciation for Buckley thru him...or maybe he's just not drum machine & synth enough for ya :P

Grace is a amazing album, Wha'choo talkin' bout?

You'd never heard it before or am i missing something here? meh jeff buckley....one song that happened to be a cover, never really made it with much else did he...

well your just validating and furthering my point, if alot more people had listened to the grace album i wouldnt have to sit in my college common room every day listening to 3 different people playing hallelujah from different enRAB of the room at different times and singing in little groups over and over and over again.

I've never been a fan of the 'if you like one male solo artist you'll definitely love this one eventually' argument. I tend to like and dislike music instantly and I disliked everything of his (except for his cover of Hallelujah). When I was younger I thought that people making posts like yours knew some sort of objective truth that I hadn't yet learnt so I went through all of his albums (and U2's and various others) to search for the thing I was missing.

I wasn't missing anything. I just didn't like what I heard.

I don't understand why that's an unacceptable answer. :p:

Kingdom For A Kiss - Jeff Buckley in WorRAB: DoubleTake Interview

Ok, so that's a link Strum gave me with Jeff Buckley and I just wanted to say that it was absolutely horrid. It's so painfully obvious this guy has never interviewed a musician before. It was so uncomfortable to read the way he kept diverting the conversation to himself, asking questions that aren't really proper questions but a chance to share a bit of his pathetic life with a living music God. I kept thinking of what Buckley must have thought and why he hadn't walked out half way through. Terrible, although, you do get to have a little insight into the way his mind worked....

I dont have anything Corpus Christi Carol. It was about as un radio friendly a song as you can get and a lot of Jeff Buckley is like that. Its typical Jeff Buckley. I just think its the weakest track he did, certainly the weakest on Grace.

His voice is obviously incredible but I've gotta disagree to an extent. Buckley is an artist that makes me want to take out the sleeve and read the lyrics.

oh my god, he is AMAZING. i love love love him. its awful that he's not around. i wish i could see what he would produce as he got older.
for SHAME!

i do however, have to agree that tim buckley was and is painfully talented as well. his lyrics and music in general are more raw and older and seemingly more cultured as an artist.as far as i am concerned, jeff was and always will be a "what could have been". he was undeniably talented vocally and as a guitarist but he just never got to where he ..could have been. its just a shame, plain and simple.

i like eternal life, a lot.

i havent listened to him nearly enough yet to pick a favorie, i only own grace.

will definitly be getting another album by him soon.
