jeep's interior lights wont turn off? ?

last night it was a really rainy/ foggy day and everything was fine but then this morning i went outside and my dome lights wear on. i tryed to turn them off and i opened and closed all the doors but the wont go off. any help would be great before my battery dies.
well i just checked to see if it was stuck and its not. i noticed when i turn on the lights manuly it gets brighter and when i turn them off they get a little bit dimmer but they are still on and i need them off.
yea it must have a short but it doesnt make sense becouse last night it wasnt like this and then just over night it shorts out. if it did have a short is there a fuse i could pull out so no power is going to the dome lights
 
1. is the interior light switch turned on? some are on the headlight switch, it comes on it you turn the knob all the way to one side or the other. some are on the dash, a little thumb wheel control. some are on the dome light itself.
2. a door or tailgate not latched compleyely
3. a bad switch or shorted wire.
 
Do they have a manual switch on them? Sometimes my kids will turn those on,..drives me nuts!
