jeep XJ door removal?

I live in CT and i recently took the front doors off of my 1989 Jeep Cherokee. i need to know if it is illegal with out SIDE MIRRORS, i have a rear view mirror and some people told me i need 1 mirror that allows me to see 200ft behind me, is this true? i know it vary's by state. help please
 
Yes, you need 1 mirror along with the rear view.

Have you put the doors back on yet?? Did they seal right?
I have been wanting to do this.
