you need to check for power at the starter when trying to start it if you have no power then it maybe the ignition switch or a fuse.
If engine turns but will not start then you need to check for spark at the #1 spark plug no spark check the crankshaft position sensor, coil, pick up coil
Re check the the battery volts and make sure it's holding a charge the newer vehicles need a full 12 volts.
Just because it's a new/rebuilt part doesn't mean it will work may need to replace the starter

Hey i have a 2000 Tj i had a problem with my starter so i replaced it. Now then i turn the key it sounds like it sends power but nothing happens. I have check out all the wires and i even replaced my coil sencer. If any one has any pointers thanks.

I also Charged the battery
i did replace the ignition switch, the battery is full and i wonder if it could be a key ignition problem. It has a click when i turn the key but it dose not look like any thing is getting power. not the starter or distributor . I also bought the car with a after market alarm and just pulled it out when it would not start. i was looking at the guys work and he had a live cable from the battery just sitting there. i have a feeling that could have shorted out some things. I check all the fuses also.

Do you hear the starter relay "clicking" when you turn the key? If not, the starter is not get power and you should look for a fuse or wiring problem.

If you DO hear the starter clicking and maybe even the engine TRIES to turn over but just doesn't seem to "catch", then either you have a distributor problem (check for a spark on one of the spark plugs) or there is no fuel being pumped to the engine.

If you had not checked these "simple" things before buying a new battery, it might be time to bite the bullet and pay someone who knows what they are doing to take a look...
