Hi i own a 1987 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, 4 door, 4WD. It has the 4.0 liter inline six cillinder motor. Now there is a hose that leads from the front of the valve cover to the air box, the hose might be 18 inches long, now it needs to be replaced, can you please tell me what the name of that hose is. The hose has a plastic base that attaches it to the valve cover.

Walk into your local auto parts store with the measurement. 99 times out of 100, they sell it by the foot, so round up and trim as needed. It is, indeed, the hose that runs to your PCV valve (the plastic base). It sends the vapor from the hot oil in your crank case into the air/fuel mix to be combusted and sent through the catalytic converter rather than allowing them to escape through a breather into the air. You should not need to go to a dealership to get this hose. They'll most likely charge an arm and a leg. You'll most likely need both arms and both legs to continue driving your Jeep...
