Jeep Question + Insurance + First car?

I am going to be buying my first car soon, and I was told that the insurance would be cheaper if i bought a Jeep, I am just wondering if this would be true, im 17 and 6"4 (itd be easier to fit in) btw im a lad.
If so, around how dear would it be to be if the engine was 2.0L ..and any suggestions on any make/models and a small enough engine?
