Jeep Grand Cherokee turns over then engine quits?

I went home for winter break (one month long) and left my jeep at school. When I came back, the battery was dead. Aggravating, but I was okay with it since I realized I'd left my phone charger plugged in and on. I had someone use a heavy duty battery pack to jump my car, and to no avail; every time we'd try to jump it the engine would start and then quit just as suddenly. Giving it gas didn't do anything either; and I have plenty of fuel in the tank. The first time we jumped it I literally went "YAAAY...awwwww :("

With the charger attached, all the lights and things were working fine, but the battery doesn't hold a charge (I'm assuming because it needs the jeep to turn over and run for awhile?)
The battery was replaced in October, and had been working fine up when I last drove it in mid-December. I go to school in a sub-tropical climate, so cold weather doesn't seem to be a factor. What on earth could the problem be? I appreciate any help :)
As I said, the battery is almost brand new. Or is the charger itself not enough, and needs a jump from an actual vehicle?
