96 Jeep GC 4WD with 245K miles. Rear diff is howling, gotten progressively worse, sounds like it's about to go. Can get a used one for $300 at the parts yard. Questions: how do I know what ratio? and is this a job that I should be able to handle? I'm fairly mechanically inclined, more concerned about special tools and tricky situations with this job. Thanks in advance for your help!
