I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and recently while driving all the gauges and warning lights on the dash flickered and went crazy. The radio and power doors didn't function either. We were able to restart the car and had no issue until the following day when the same problems occurred. Again we were able to restart without any problems. Any idea what the problem could be?
This is not the original battery. The original was replace 2-3 years ago.

Clean all the connections from the battery terminals which should be scraped clean to remove any build up, the battery cable clamps, the alternator connections, check the main fuses, and clean all the grounds. Check with a jeep dealer if they have issues with the electrical portion of the ignition switch, I've seen other vehicles that develop internal contact problems that cause similar problems to what you have.

You probably have broken wires in the boot between the door and the A pillar (the hinged side). Peel back the boot and if you have broken wires in there they will need to be fixed to cure your problems. They are noted for the wires breaking and it is a pain to repair, but make sure you shrink wrap the repair.

is your battery original? jeeps have a problem with the Battery, have it tested first, if ok then you will need to check grounds and connectors for loose a connection.
