Jeep Cherokee recalled due to faulty Torque Converter...?

Could be. It you Torque Converter was locking up prematurely or not locking at all, it could cause any of those symptoms you mention. Go get it fixed.

If it was recalled, get if fixed. If you still have a problem at least that one will be eliminated.
I have had similar problems caused by a torque converter but it wasn't on a Jeep.

The torque converter could be a part of this problem. As long as it's a free fix,,get it done, then work from there. Glad I don't have a Jeep!

I've always had this issue with my Jeep, when I start it up sometimes it will "judder" and stall. If it does it once it will definitely judder again atleast 1 more time until eventually it will judder but stay running.

It never does it when the car is cold, only warm. I assume this is due to the electronic choke on the car. When it does happen its as if there isnt enough "UNF!" to get the engine going.

I've had 2 mechanics look at it about 9 months ago, 1 of them was Jeep themselves. Jeep couldn't get it to reproduce and the other mechanic witnessed it but couldnt figure out what was wrong.

I have just had a phone call recalling my jeep for a faulty Torque converter. Could this be what has been causing the problem?

Thanks

The engine malfunction light did come on after a stall a few months back, after having it looked at it was faulty glow plugs. I had them replaced but the juddering/stalling was not fixed. The light has not been on since.
It does indeed judder while in Park. Can anyone else confirm that it wont be the torque converter if this happens while in park? Thanks
