I am the market for a used Cherokee and I have seen a few that says "Police Prep". I am assuming that means it was a Police Vehicle of some sort (detective cruiser, patrol, DNR, etc....)

So is that what it means?

Would you or have you bought a vehicle like this?

Bad choice or good choice?
Do you have the Cherokee listed anywhere that you could give me the link? I am in Indiana.

The only thing that I would worry about is a bunch of extra wiring that has been tapped into the factory wiring that no longer goes to anything i.e. lights, sirens, radios that are no longer there. they're not going to go through all the work of taking all the wiring out to sell it.

Police prep usually means it has a heavier suspension and higher amperage charging system to run all of the accessories. Other than usually having higher mileage, they are generally good cars. They are taken care of better than most cars. I bought a used Crown Vic that was a cruiser and it was great.
