I have a Jeep cherokee, when I start it up and when I first accelerate it makes a horrible tinny rasping sound, from underneath and a popping sound from the front anyone have any idea what this could be?
When mine started do that I found that the exhaust clamp between the "cat" and the silencer had rotted away allowing the system to start coming apart. It was only being held together by the pipe touching the axle !. To push it back together, I put the jack between the axle and the silencer and "wound" it back into place, new clamp, problem solved !
