Jeep Cherokee 2007 4.7L, V8 Burning oil producing smoke (tons)?

There is oil residue in the tailpipe, it idles just a little rough, if you drive it might as well be a spy car, as much smoke it puts out, i could actually cause some accidents with that smoke level, if i get on the freeway, and get it up to about 60 or 65 it runs like a champ, no incidents almost like normal operation, but after about 10 or 15 miles it has burned up over 5 quarts, so what could it be?
 
Burnt rings are your most likely culprit. You vehicle should still be under warranty... I would take it right back to the dealership and demand that they resolve the issue promptly. Since the repair might take a few days--if it is the rings, they have to pretty much tear the whole engine apart--make sure that they provide you with a replacement vehicle to use while yours is in the shop.
