JBL- BandPass or Ported?

JBL has a Bandpass enclosure, that comes with the sub, so is made to exact spec, and they also have the same kida thing, but ported.
Which one would give the best sound quality, with chrystel clarity, and solid beat, when playing a wide range of music, but mostly rock and metal.
 
For the best sound quality, go with the ported enclosure.

I know that they are the OEM enclosures. But, I doubt that either is really tuned properly. Most manufacturers will "engineer" in a big peak in the low end to make their subs sound louder. But, it make for a loss in sound quality.
