Jazzing hair dye on black african american ?

I wanna dye the front hump of my hair CHERRY RED --> HUMP AS IN THAT ( http://bridesmaid-hairstyles.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/2b2994ed56rstyle.jpg.jpg ] & the side streaks . I already bought the dye , but my hair is natrually dark brown & im now realizing it may not show as much is their anything i can do to make the hair dye show more ?
