jaws only pops when i eat?

know the dentist did the test and made me open my mouth to see if i had tmd thing,but it didn't pop.and my teeth are not level which i mean my top teeth are over lapping the bottom and if i chew to much my jaw get sore.

kinda worried,tmd thing what do they do really to treat it.is it like a needle to jaw or something or do i get braces
 
Treatment for TMD or Temperomandibular Joint Dysfunction can vary depending on the severity and the problem.
Treatment can be as simple as a nightguard or an Anterior Repositioning Splint, to Orthodontics and Orthognathic Surgery to reposition teeth appropriately, to surgery on the joint itself.
TMD can be a progressively deteriorating problem. You don't really want to wait until it gets really bad. So if I were you, I would seek out a dentist or specialist in your area that diagnoses and treats TMJ problems. You can consult with an Orthodontist as they usually have a greater knowledge of how to treat TMD then your average general dentist.
