Jaws Appreciation Thread

What can I say that hasn't been said before about this classic. Definitley in my top 10.
I remember seeing it in the cinema, bloody great, especially the bit where the head falls through the whole in the boat!!
Funny thing is I was born in '69 and I think Jaws came out about '77?? How the hell was I allowed in??

ps - I sat and watched it with my son who hadn't seen it before, he was sitting with his legs crossed about 2 feet away from the tv. During the scene I just mentioned I sneakily turned the volume right up just before the head popped out!
I am such a bad mum!:D

ps ps - I didn't go back in the water for YEARS.

One of my favourite all time films! (love Jaws 1 and 2 in particular and really liked 4 for some reason, 3 was alright)

I was quite young though and very impressionable but it did put me off the sea for ages!

After seeing one of them I could never get that song out of my head - "Show me the way to go home, i'm tired and I wanna go to bed" !! Jaws 2 is probably my favourite.

Also check out this site, its so funny - they show 30 second classic films like Jaws!

It came out in 1975, but it was only an A (PG as they are called now). Not quite a U, but kiRAB were definitely allowed in to see it. Supposedly A meant that children had to be accompanied by an adult, but the cinema where I used to go would allow kiRAB in unattended to see A films as long as they behaved themselves. I went to see it with my little brother - I was eight, he was five. Never did us no harm.

The shark does look crappo now, but it didn't when I was a kid and saw this film! I was scared to go in the sea for years, even in West Wales lol.

I have to say, I did think about the film every time I went surfing in Australia....
