Jaw pain and stiffness. Could my sleeping posture be the cause?

The denist says there's nothing noticably wrong. He gave me a splint for bruxism months ago, in case that was the problem, but there's no improvement. Just recently, I paid attention to my posture when I go to bed. I usually lie face down with my face turned right and my hands under it. If you could imagine this posture: it firmly pushes the jaw over to the right for the duration of the sleep. Is this likely to cause an ache in my jaw after several years of this posture? And, if so, what should I do about it? Thanks in advance.
