Hi..
I recently got a new netbook and I might need to install the Java Runtime Environment on it for some programs to work. I already have an older version of Java on my PC that works fine, but I came across some articles regarding a virus in the latest update of Java and Adobe reader??
Will it ruin my netbook if I do install it? The last thing I need is to do this really, so.. Any information on the risks?
Thanks in advance.

Adobe has sold out and is bundling crap like Norton and some bogus toolbars with their product that are causing the problems.Make sure your on a official adobe site and take your time installing it and not Norton and the toolbars and you will be ok.

As for this java problem, use this free cleaner to empty your java cache daily and it won't have a chance to do to much damage if it does get past your antivirus?

you don't have to worry about viruses if you have a good antivirus + antispyware software. i recommend avast home edition(free).

i don't really know about those viruses, but i can say that they will surely do some harm
