What modern country has legal cartoon child porn? Go ahead and name a country.

It was legal in Canada until 2005, it was in the UK as late as last year as stated in the article I linked, dunno' if it's illegal there yet, I'm pretty sure it isn't. It wasn't officially illegal in the US until 2004.

Not sure on the current state of affairs in all of Europe, but it was legal in Sweden as late as 2002, afaik, and though it's supposedly illegal now, it's not been tried in court, the last goes for Norway as well).

It's legal in the Netherlands, and at most fineable in Australia, the internets just told me.

Nice.

I especially like:

Which pretty much says nothing, seeing as that sort of thing is just as legal in most of the world.

Anyone know if this has gone through, yet.

The manga-quote is also nice, especially considering it goes on to say:
It is estimated that 30-40% of manga contains sexual themes or content, much of it representing schoolgirls of elementary or junior high school age in themes including rape, sado-masochism and bondage.

I'd like to know a) Who estimated that? b) How much of it is "much of it" really? and c) Does the "themes" in "representing schoolgirls of elementary or junior high school age in themes including rape, sado-masochism and bondage" actually mean that they actually have that sort of thing done to them, or is he being deliberately vague with statistics so as to make it sound more sensational?

a reporter told Weekly Playboy.

an employee of a medium-sized DVD manufacturer producing material featuring models under 15 years old told Weekly Playboy.
lulz

EDit:
(Weekly Playboy is a dodgy sort of japanese men's mag, wot features articles, pics of wimmin, manga, and plenty of ads for manly stuff.)

I had a friend when I was growing up. He was more a friend of my cousin's whom I met vicariously.

He was uniformly ugly with very little social skills. I had never held out much hope for him, knowing that our paths would soon part.

I jumped on a bus several weeks ago to find my previously mentioned cousin driving the bus. Free bus journey fwt. However, that's not important. During our re-collective conversation my cousin relayed to me certain sobering facts. Fact.

Turns out that Brian sexually abused his sister's daughter whom he happen to share a domicile with.

And you think you know people.

thats too much porn, and its not much a surprise japans is kinda marvel/cmoic maniac society so no wonder they like manga more then real porn.

Alas you are taking reason for a walk with blind prejudice.

what difference does it make if perverts want cartoon vs real? Its depicting children. Its digusting either way especially for a country thats "modern".

Sorry but outlawing 2003, ONLY 4 YEARS AGO, says everything. Imagine how big the industry was BEFORE it was outlawed.

That said your original assessment seems close to the mark - and with a name like Brian probably not a big reader of Japanese books either.

Went for lunch with a chum the other day, an apres Mass thing. Long story short, someone he knew and thought a decent spud had been named in a Paternity suit. He took the DNA test as requested to prove the wean wasn't his.

Couple of days later Plod came to his work and lifted him, turns out his DNA showed that he was a chap they wanted for a kidnap, rape and murder.

My friends at work call it a nation of pedophiles just for the vending machines with the soiled school girl panties . I said wait a minute they don't even allow pubic hair in their pron mags . His reponce ...... ah ,ah .

I love the word 'Djibuti'. I think I like incongruous consonants at the start of words. I used to know a lady caled 'Mncube', pronounced 'Uncoobay' which I thought was lovely.

Anyway, I digress. Maybe the Niponese just like retards then? You know....grown women with the minds of infants. In which case it's still sick-o-rama :snooty:.

That the Japnese are well mental is not in dispute. It is just that their mentalism is a fair bit more complicated than being given air play here and this is in fact the root of my disagreement with the OP.

Edit: Djibouti is a cracking name which is why I used it
