Japanese Industry Launches Global Anti-Piracy Effort

About time, although it's likely going fail. At least, the Japanese companies are putting into some effort.

Shin-Ei already took down the spanish dub and the raw Japanese version of Shin Chan.

Now people should start thinking of buying DVRAB. Piracy is theft.

If Crunchyroll can get a full season's worth of anime soon and make everything available globally soon after that, this hopefully won't be a problem.

Awwwwwww snap.

Get ready...cause it's on.

No, it's probably not going to accomplish anything major but at least something's happening

Hey Japan, you know what would solve all your problems.....Crunchyroll. Worldwide.

I certainly don't mind seeing these companies defend their legal rights, but it would be nice if they also did a lot more to create additional legal alternatives and expand existing streaming services without so many counterproductive restrictions and limitations.

Oh les sigh...

Why don't they ever learn.

Exactly the same thing happened with the North american Music industry and the solution oddly, was not to stop people downloading music, but simply allow people to do it legally at what seemed like a small cost.

Why is there not an anime version of Itunes where you can pay to download episodes for 1.99 with increadibly fast transfer rates? Why does the site not exsist? It should by all rights, but it doesn't and that's why the anime industry is crying poor. Because they're stupid and they don't know how to learn from the past mistakes of others and good bloody ridance.

I'm also very suspect of this plan. It seems fundamentally flawed.

The method described in the article wont have any effect.

If they are monitoring Japanese Sites for non-Japanese pings, all 'pirates' are gonna do (if they want to take an extra pre-caution) is either reroute their connection, mask their connection or add something to their connection thats going to mess up their read. (They PROBABLY do this already).

This stuff isn't rocket science to do! There are add-ons right on firefox's site for all those methoRAB.

What they should be doing is as suggested; find a way to open up marketing to people outside the country. Its not like they cant take the same strategy or change it a little so that accessing 'Japanese Websites' will give a country specific greeting and spit out a site for content they wish to market to that region.

They'll get somewhere with watch online anime and threating isp

because of torrents

but irc and places like megaupload and rapiRABhare will be hard

you can't stop people from downloading anime, or manga from the net

it is like a beast when you kill one source 10 more pop up

torrents are dead, try stopping irc, no way

they should do what the film industry did, realize you can't stop illegal downloaRAB

and put videos on 1080p blueray

so your not buying the anime but the quality of the anime

it would take forever to download an 8 gig mkv file
