Japanese and english actors that share multiple roles

Brad Swaile dubbed over Mamoru Miyano as Light Yagami in Death Note and Setsuna F. Seiei in Gundam 00.

Brittany Karbowski dubbed over Fumi Orikasa for Pani Poni Dash and Jinki: EXTEND.

Crispin Freeman usualy does the English versions of Tomokazu Sugita roles. I hope they buck this trend if/when Gintama is licensed (TRAVIS WILLINGHAM FOR GINTOKIIIII!).

I didn't even know this, and I've been casting Crispin Freeman as Gintoki in every Gintama fantasy dub cast I've made.

Anyway, Greg Ayres played Kaworu Nagisa from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Chrono from Chrono Crusade, and Satoshi Hiwatari from D.N.Angel, all played by Akira Ishida in the original Japanese versions.

If video games count, the Kingdom Hearts series Axel and Final Fantasy VII's Reno share the same voice actors in both Japanese and English (the Japanese VA is Keiji Fujiwara, the English Va is Quinton Flynn)....

In the ocean dub of DB and DBZ Saffron Henderson did chibi Goku and Gohan, in Galaxy Express 999 movies she voiced Tetsuo, all these voices done by Masako Nozawa

A non-anime crossed with an anime example:
Cheryl Chase, who was the voice of Angelica on Rugrats voiced Mei in the Carl Macek/Troma/Fox dub of My Neigrabroador Totoro.
Chika Sakamoto who voiced Mei in the original Japanese version was also the voice for Angelica in the Japanese dub of Rugrats!

Some anime examples:
Jessica Calvello dubbed over both of Kotono Mitsuishi's roles as Mink from Dragon Half and Excel from the first half of Excel Saga.

Also, Larissa Wolcott who voiced Excel in the second half of Excel Saga dubbed over Kotono Mitsuishi's brief cameo in the dub of Puni Puni Poemy.

Richard Cox dubbed over Keppei Yamaguchi in Inu Yasha and the later seasons of Ranma 1/2.

I've heard that in Germany, they assign voice actors to celebrities. For example, one guy will always play Arnold, one guy will always plat Chevy Chase, ect. I don't know if Japan does this, though.

Yasuo Yamada, who voiced Lupin III before his death in 1995, was also the official Japanese dub voice for Clint Eastwood. He also dubbed over Graham Chapman in Monty Python's Japanese dub.

Goro Naya, who voiced Zenigata in the same anime, was the official Japanese dub voice for Charlton Heston. Concidently, he also dubbed over John Cleese in Monty Python's Japanese dub.

Yes, they assign a certain voice actor to a specific character in Japan too. However, I think traditionally Japanese dubs of American live-action movies were done for when the films only played on television and on video. I think the theater releases were always subtitled until pretty recently.

Kinda suprised to be the first one to bring this one up: Aya Hirano & Wendee Lee both played Haruhi Suzumiya (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) & Konata Izumi (Lucky Star)

Richard Cansino played 3 roles that Toshihiko Seki played. Legato Bluesummers (trigun), Kagetora (Mirage of Blaze), and Kall-su (Bastard!).

Wendee Lee and Megumi Hayashibara have shared a few roles, such as Faye Valentine in Cowboy Bebop and Christie McKenzie in Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket.
